Graduation is soon upon us and I always have lots of people making custom orders with me for their graduating friends and family. This year, I decided to create a large printable graduation sign (30×20 inches), which is sized to fit on a foam core board from the dollar store.
We always print out a big sign like this for every special occasion and then use a glue stick to glue it to a foam core board. It really makes a big statement at the party, but is so easy to do! The thing that’s so great about this big sign is you can use it in so many different ways! It looks fantastic as a backdrop behind the party table, or we even just set it on the front porch to welcome guests.
If you have an entryway table, that’s a perfect place to set it, or on an easel or mantle. You can even set this printable graduation sign on the ground in front of the dessert table or hang it up on any wall in the room! Instant (and easy!) party decor! And, since it fits great on a foam core board, it’s also set up to add a couple of wooden stakes to the back of it and put it in the front yard. Or tape it to the garage door. So simple, but it has a big impact!
For this type of large scale printing, I’ve talked to people who’ve had good experiences with printing at large office supply stores, Costco or at their local printers. But I always recommend calling first to make sure they can accommodate your request.
I also wanted to let you know that you can print a large format document, such as a poster or banner, using your home printer by splitting the page across multiple sheets of paper (called “tiling”).
The Adobe Reader Poster option calculates how many sheets of paper are needed. You can adjust the size of the original to best fit the paper and specify how much each “tile” overlaps. You can then piece together the tiles.
In the Print dialog box, click Poster and then specify the tiling options. To read more details, go to this link:
